Golden Thryallis

Common name: Thryallis, Rain of Gold, Golden Shower.

Botanical name: Galphimia gracilis

Gold shower plant native to Mexico, and is a great little shrub with constant yellow flowers along light green foliage. Galphimia gracilis is widely cultivated in warm regions throughout the world. This shower of gold plant grows moderately quick and can attain a height of about 2mtr with little maintenance. It does very well in full sun and well drained soil, but can also tolerate shade but in shade flowers are fewer and will have a scraggly appearance. Galphimia’s need frequent pruning to maintain it as a shrub. Flowers appear almost round the year in warmer climates.
